Luc C. Pierre-Louis has a broad litigation practice, having represented both multi-national and emerging companies in connection with corporate governance, business disputes, trade secret, employee mobility, and bankruptcy matters. He has significant court experience, having successfully argued a motion in support of summary judgment in New York state court, and regularly conducted oral arguments in federal court. Among his notable cases, Mr. Pierre-Louis served as co-lead counsel on a federal jury trial in SDNY, obtaining a complete defense verdict after a four-day jury trial; and obtained summary judgment victory in a complex Fourth Amendment dispute—later affirmed on appeal.
Prior to joining Slarskey LLC, Mr. Pierre-Louis served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Joseph A. Marutollo on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York. He began his career as an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Special Federal Litigation Division of the New York City Law Department and also worked as a litigation associate at Herrick Feinstein LLP. While in private practice, Mr. Pierre-Louis maintained a robust pro bono practice, successfully defending a prominent community legal services organization in state administrative proceedings. He is also the co-author of an article on investor disputes that ran in the New York Law Journal. While at the New York City Law Department, Mr. Pierre-Louis was awarded “Legal Rookie of the Year,” for exemplary performance in his first year of practice.
Mr. Pierre-Louis graduated from The George Washington University Law School with a concentration in International and Comparative Law, and received Pro Bono Honors. During law school, he served as President of the International Law Society, and also held leadership positions with Lambda Law, Black Law Students Association, and the Human Rights Law Society. Mr. Pierre-Louis is fluent in French and Haitian Creole.
