New York Law Journal Recognizes Slarskey LLC Twice in the Same Day

Today the New York Law Journal recognized the firm's work twice, in the top two "Decisions of Interest" for April 4, 2022.

Last week, the firm received favorable results on appeal for its clients in the Delmonico's steakhouse battle, where Slarskey LLC successfully proved shareholder oppression and achieved 100% ownership and control, and a judgment of $1.7 million, for its minority shareholder clients. On appeal, the Appellate Division determined that the firm's clients were entitled to greater relief, which the trial court had denied, i.e., the oppressive shareholders should be compelled to account for more than $70 million in reported income that flowed through the business and was never properly accounted for. Other lawyers in the New York business divorce community have recognized that the Slarskey team, and the Delmonico's litigation, "breaks new ground" in obtaining an order "compelling the respondent shareholders to relinquish their shares."

Separately, in a case filed by Slarskey LLC and reported by the New York Daily News, "Drivers suing NYC black car company claiming they were pushed into financial distress," the court granted class certification on the drivers' franchise and common law claims, permitting Slarskey LLC to represent hundreds of drivers, in one lawsuit, challenging the franchising and compensation practices of Elite Limousine, the largest black-car passenger limousine service in New York City.

Both results are quintessential decisions for the Slarskey LLC team: sophisticated commercial litigation, on behalf of deserving clients, taking on new and challenging issues of New York law.
