Lessons for Litigation from the Marathon

The other day, I completed my second marathon, this one through the streets of New York. Training for and running the marathon gave me plenty of time to meditate on a piece of wisdom I've given over the years, to new attorneys and a few clients: litigation is a marathon, not a sprint. (Of course, as with any legal advice, this only holds true some of the time--emergency injunctions and certain courts are very much a sprint!)
