Helen O'Reilly has more than ten years of experience as a litigator, advisor, and General Counsel and is known for her results-driven, practical approach to solving complex, high-stakes matters. She advises private and not-for-profit entities on a range of legal issues with a focus on pre-litigation advising and general counsel services. Ms. O'Reilly has specific expertise guiding on subjects related to stakeholder safety and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI), providing guidance to organizations deploying GAI within their business and workplace.
With experience both in-house and at law firms, Ms. O'Reilly is skilled at guiding businesses through the early stages of disputes to minimize legal exposure and business disruption. Clients benefit from her in-house perspective and significant experience overseeing litigation and supervising outside counsel. Ms. O'Reilly's work establishing and overseeing the Human Resources function, overseeing complex insurance matters, drafting corporate governance documents, and overseeing risk further allows her to provide clients with nimble and practical guidance on complex legal and business questions.
Outside of the office, Ms. O'Reilly is very active with organizations invested in supporting children’s access to high quality summer camps and is a frequent speaker and trainer on child safety, including artificial intelligence and its implications for child privacy and protection. She is an active member of the Irish-American legal community and committed to mentoring other first-generation lawyers.
Prior to joining Slarskey LLC, Ms. O’Reilly was General Counsel at The Fresh Air Fund and a litigator at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler. She also served as a judicial law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit for the Honorable Barrington D. Parker, Jr. and on the U.S. District Court for the District of New York for the Honorable John Gleeson.
